JetBlue South Florida Expansion: More Flights and NHL Perks

JetBlue is growing its presence with a South Florida expansion, adding more flights from FLL and a new partnership with the Florida Panthers.

Starting July 9, JetBlue will ramp up its South Florida presence with nearly 130 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to more than 55 nonstop destinations. This expansion is part of a larger commitment to the region, with the airline aiming to offer more than 150 daily flights from FLL and 34 daily departures from West Palm Beach (PBI) by the end of the year.

Enhanced Fan Experiences and NHL Partnership

Beyond increased flight frequencies, JetBlue has signed a multi-year agreement to extend its partnership with the Florida Panthers. The airline will continue its role as the official carrier for the team and will serve as the presenting partner of the newly reimagined Champions Club at Amerant Bank Arena.

Fans can also look forward to the debut of “JetBlue Landing,” a new fan destination designed to create memorable experiences for Panthers supporters and JetBlue customers, set to launch during the 2026–2027 NHL season. The partnership also extends to community initiatives, such as the ongoing Reading Challenge program, which supports students in Broward County Public Schools.

“As we continue to expand in Fort Lauderdale and welcome new customers across the region, growing our partnership with the Florida Panthers just feels right,” said Stephanie Evans Greene, JetBlue’s senior vice president of marketing and brand. “The Florida Panthers organization understands what it means to show up for this community the way we do. This is about more than putting our names together.”

Loyalty Benefits and Regional Competition

This aggressive growth strategy positions JetBlue as a primary alternative to Miami International Airport (MIA). While MIA remains a dominant hub for international travel, JetBlue is betting that travelers in Broward County and those seeking efficient domestic nonstop options will prefer the convenience of FLL.

For frequent flyers, the expansion offers increased utility for the TrueBlue loyalty program. With a wider array of destinations and higher flight frequencies, members will find more opportunities to earn and redeem points for domestic travel or upgrades to Mint, the airline’s premium cabin. This increased availability allows travelers to better leverage their points for non-stop routes that may have previously required connections through larger hubs.

Traveler Tips and Planning

If you are planning a trip to South Florida during this expansion period, consider the following:

  • Monitor New Schedules: With service ramping up throughout the summer, check the JetBlue app or website frequently for updated departure times and new nonstop routes from FLL.
  • Consider West Palm Beach (PBI): For those traveling to the northern parts of the region, utilize the growing service from PBI to avoid the congestion of the larger Fort Lauderdale hub.
  • Leverage TrueBlue for Upgrades: As flight frequency increases, so does demand. Use your points early to secure Mint upgrades or preferred seating on high-demand Florida routes to ensure a more comfortable journey.
