DoubleTree to Offer Free Cookies on August 4
DoubleTree by Hilton is giving away its famous warm chocolate chip cookies for free on August 4. Learn how to get yours and the secret ingredient inside.
DoubleTree to Offer Free Cookies on August 4
DoubleTree by Hilton offers complimentary chocolate chip cookies to travelers and the public on August 4 at select hotels across the United States. This event is part of the brand’s celebration of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.
Event Timing and Availability
The giveaway takes place on August 4. It is available at select DoubleTree by Hilton hotels throughout the U.S. Both hotel guests and local community members can receive a cookie, and no reservation is required. The brand provides these cookies while supplies last.
To find a location, travelers can check the Hilton app or contact their local hotel directly. Because availability depends on local stock, calling ahead is the best way to confirm. Since the giveaway is limited to specific locations, travelers should verify participation before they travel.
The Secret Ingredient
The chocolate chip cookie is a central part of the brand’s identity. DoubleTree uses the cookie as a warm welcome for guests during the check-in process. The cookies are traditionally served warm to enhance the flavor of the chocolate and the texture of the dough. The recipe includes ingredients like oats and walnuts. A key component is freshly squeezed lemon juice, which balances the sweetness and acidity. “Guests are always intrigued when they learn freshly squeezed lemon juice is part of the DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookie recipe,” said Drew Iddings, global brand leader, DoubleTree by Hilton. Iddings stated that the brand released the recipe to the public in 2020.
Hilton Honors and Loyalty Benefits
The cookie giveaway is a perk within the Hilton Honors loyalty program. Travelers earn points through hotel stays or via Hilton Honors American Express cards, such as the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. Hilton Honors points typically have a value between 0.5 and 0.6 cents each. While this is lower than the value of World of Hyatt points, which can reach 1.7 cents per point, Hilton has a larger global portfolio of properties.
Members can transfer American Express Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio. This allows travelers to move points quickly to fund future stays. Hilton also offers an award stay benefit where guests receive their fifth night free on certain stays. Additionally, Hilton provides uncapped free night certificates through its credit card programs. This differs from the capped certificate system at Marriott Bonvoy. The Hilton Honors program also features no blackout dates on standard room awards, which provides more flexibility for travelers during peak seasons.
Contact your local DoubleTree hotel to confirm their participation before August 4.
