New Hilton Key West Resort and Marina Opens on Stock Island
Explore the new Hilton Key West Resort & Marina on Stock Island, which has 175 rooms, six saltwater pools, and direct marina access for your next trip.
Hilton has opened the Hilton Key West Resort & Marina on Stock Island, adding a 175-room waterfront property to its Florida Keys portfolio.
Guest Rooms and Waterfront Amenities
The property has 175 guest rooms, and 86 of those are suites. Every room has a private furnished balcony with a view of the marina or the Atlantic Ocean. Six saltwater pools are located on the 20-acre waterfront site. For recreation, guests can kayak, paddleboard, bike, or attend yoga classes.
Dining options include Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen for oceanfront meals and Ocean’s Edge Café for Cuban coffee, smoothies, and quick bites. The hotel has poolside service and in-room dining.
“The Florida Keys continue to be one of the most sought-after leisure destinations in the Americas, and the debut of Hilton Key West Resort & Marina further strengthens Hilton’s growing portfolio of a dozen properties across this iconic island chain,” said Danny Hughes, president of Americas for Hilton.
Location, Timing, and Booking Tips
Choosing a place to stay in Key West depends on whether you want to be in the middle of the action or away from the noise. This resort sits on Stock Island, which is a short distance from Duval Street and Mallory Square. While you cannot walk to the central nightlife, the hotel has a complimentary shuttle service to Old Town. This service helps guests reach the Key West Historic Seaport and other major attractions without a rental car.
Travelers should plan their visits based on seasonal price fluctuations in the Keys. Rates are typically highest from December through April. If you want to find lower rates, book a trip during the summer or late fall. Keep in mind that the summer months bring higher humidity and more frequent rain.
This location is a strategic move for Hilton. By placing a resort on Stock Island, the brand targets travelers who want a dedicated marina and more space than a boutique hotel in the center of town can provide. This property competes with other large-scale resorts in the region that focus on water access rather than street-level proximity.
Maximizing Hilton Honors and Amex Points
If you are a Hilton Honors member, there are ways to make this stay more affordable. Hilton Honors points generally have a value of approximately 0.5 to 0.6 cents per point. This is lower than the value of Hyatt points, which often hover around 1.7 cents per point, but Hilton has a much larger global footprint.
If you hold a Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card or the standard Hilton Honors American Express Card, you can earn points at a high rate. You can also transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio. One of the best ways to use points at this new Key West property is the “5th night free” benefit on award stays. This provides a significant advantage over Marriott, where free night certificates often have specific caps on the room value. Hilton certificates are generally uncapped, which gives you more flexibility to book high-end suites at a resort like this one.
“From its waterfront setting and direct marina access to its relaxed island design and destination-driven experiences, the resort offers guests an inviting new home base,” explained Leonard Gooz, global brand leader for Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
The Bottom Line
The Hilton Key West Resort & Marina is a strong option for travelers who prioritize water access and a traditional resort atmosphere. Boaters and families will find the six pools and marina access useful. However, if your goal is to walk to every bar and restaurant in Key West, the Stock Island location means you will rely on the hotel shuttle or rideshares. Check award availability on the Hilton website to see if you can use the 5th night free benefit for your dates.
