Delta One Unveils New Missoni Amenity Kits
Delta Air Lines is refreshing its Delta One amenity kits for the spring and summer travel seasons. The update features Missoni-designed bags in five seasonal colors and exclusive skincare products from Grown Alchemist.
A Closer Look at the Seasonal Colorways and Skincare
Delta is moving away from generic travel supplies in its premium cabin. Instead, the airline is introducing a seasonal rotation of Missoni-designed amenity kits. These kits include travel essentials in a structured, reusable bag. Passengers can use these bags as clutches or everyday organizers after the flight.
For the current season, the Delta One amenity kits come in five distinct colorways. Each palette is named after a specific travel destination:
- Cape Town Canopy (Dark Green/Blue): This palette draws from the landscapes and ocean tones of South Africa.
- Malta Coast (Aqua): This color reflects the water of the Mediterranean.
- Rio Radiance (Yellow): This bright shade comes from the beaches and street culture of Rio de Janeiro (GIG).
- Seoul Sunrise (Orange): This color is inspired by the Han River and the atmosphere of Seoul (ICN).
- Sydney Coral (Pink): This shade reflects the coastlines and sunsets of Sydney (SYD).
Beyond the bags, Delta updated the skincare contents through its partnership with Grown Alchemist. The selection includes Hydra-Restore Eye Patches, a hand cream with vanilla and orange peel, and a spearmint lip balm. Delta noted that 55 percent of Delta One customers previously identified lip balm as a necessary item. The kit also contains a Missoni-patterned eye mask and crew-length socks that match the specific color of the bag.
Design Philosophy and Brand Intent
Delta brings a fashion-industry sensibility to the cabin. The airline treats these kits like seasonal collections that evolve throughout the year. These updates are timely, collectible, and premium.
“Every decision behind this refresh was guided by the needs of Delta’s global traveler,” said Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Managing Director of Brand Experience. “From skincare essentials that fit into hydration routines to a limited-edition collection of bags designed to function beautifully beyond the aircraft, our goal was to create lasting reminders of Delta that stay with customers long after their journey.”
The Science of Cabin Hydration and Grown Alchemist
The choice of Grown Alchemist as a partner addresses a specific physiological problem: low cabin humidity. At high altitudes, the air in a pressurized cabin is often extremely dry, which strips moisture from the skin. This environment can lead to irritation and discomfort during long-haul flights.
The new kit focuses on intense hydration to combat these effects. The Hydra-Restore Eye Patches are an onboard exclusive product. These patches use ingredients developed through hydration research to soothe the skin and reduce puffiness. The hand cream and lip balm also target the most sensitive areas affected by dry air. By choosing Grown Alchemist, Delta provides products that passengers can integrate into their regular skincare routines at home. This moves the amenity kit from a disposable item to a functional part of a traveler’s personal care regimen.
How Delta One Compares to Other Premium Cabins
Among international business class competitors, the “soft product”—the food, drinks, and amenities—is often the deciding factor for frequent flyers. Delta’s use of Missoni, a high-end fashion house, is a direct move to compete with the luxury offerings of other major carriers.
United Airlines’ Polaris business class often uses high-end skincare brands like Diptyque to establish a sense of luxury. Similarly, American Airlines uses premium branded amenities to differentiate its Flagship suites. Delta’s strategy differs because it adds a collectible element. By rotating the bag colors seasonally, Delta gives travelers a reason to look forward to their next flight, much like fashion enthusiasts look for new seasonal releases.
This shift also addresses a change in traveler behavior. Many passengers now prefer skincare products they can actually use after they land. Rather than providing single-use items that travelers discard, Delta provides high-quality goods with a presence in the broader beauty market. This approach reduces waste and increases the perceived value of the Delta One experience.
Maximizing Value with SkyMiles
For many travelers, flying in Delta One is a way to maximize the value of the Delta SkyMiles program. Because Delta uses dynamic award pricing, the cost of a Delta One seat in miles changes based on demand. There is no published award chart, so prices fluctuate.
SkyMiles members can find high value in these premium cabins by transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio. While the amenity kit is a small part of the total flight cost, the quality of the onboard experience is a major factor for Medallion status holders. Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members rely on these premium services as part of their loyalty benefits.
Delta also maintains strong partnerships through the SkyTeam alliance, which provides more options for global travelers. While dynamic pricing means you might pay more miles during peak seasons, the consistent quality of the premium cabin is a core part of Delta’s value proposition to its most loyal customers.
Traveler Checklist: What to Expect on Your Flight
The seasonal kits are available on various international services. If you are flying from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney (SYD), you will receive the Sydney Coral kit. Those traveling from New York (JFK) to Malta (MLA) can expect the Malta Coast version when the new service begins on June 7, 2026.
If you are traveling in Delta One soon, check your flight itinerary to see if your route includes these new seasonal offerings. You can also manage your booking or view seat options through the Delta website or mobile app.
