Hilton announced that its Curio Collection and Tapestry Collection lifestyle brands have each surpassed 200 properties worldwide. This expansion targets travelers who prioritize local culture and unique design over standardized corporate hotel experiences.
The Growth of Curio and Tapestry
The Curio Collection by Hilton has reached 200 open hotels in 47 countries and territories. The brand has a pipeline of more than 120 additional properties. This collection focuses on individually remarkable hotels that capture the essence of their surroundings.
Recent openings in the Curio Collection include the Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia. This is Hilton’s first cave hotel, and the property has rooms carved directly into the region’s rock formations in Turkey. In the United States, the brand recently debuted The Monarch San Antonio in the Hemisfair District of San Antonio, Texas, and the Hotel Valorian Los Angeles on the Sunset Strip. The brand also added Hotel Heron Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia.
Upcoming Curio Collection openings include:
- The Sunny Miami Sunny Isles Beach: An oceanfront resort in South Florida.
- Hotel Palacio Bellas Artes San Sebastian: A conversion of a historic theater in San Sebastian, Spain.
- Slohh by Roach Bengaluru: The brand’s first lifestyle entry in India.
- Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi: A new presence for the brand in Hawaii.
Tapestry Collection by Hilton has also reached the 200-hotel mark. This brand has nearly 150 more properties in development. Tapestry focuses on independent hotels that maintain their own original personality and community ties. While Curio often leans toward high-end architecture, Tapestry focuses on hotels with a strong connection to their specific neighborhoods.
Recent additions to the Tapestry Collection include Zaria Court Kigali. This is Hilton’s first property in Rwanda and its debut in Sub-Saharan Africa. The hotel is located in Kigali Sports City. In Japan, the brand introduced The Green Leaf Niseko Village in Hokkaido, a mountain retreat that uses local art. In Europe, the Rosetta Hotel Perugia brings the brand to Italy’s Umbria region and uses design elements from the 15th century. The brand also expands in New York City with The George Manhattan and Hotel 38 New York City.
Upcoming Tapestry Collection properties include Perla La Paz in Baja California Sur, Mexico, which will reimagine the historic Hotel Perla with mid-century design. Other upcoming sites include the Ava Hotel Nairobi in Kenya and the NHAAN Resort & Spa in Hoi An, Vietnam.
“Reaching 200 hotels is a milestone for Curio Collection by Hilton as we continue to expand into new markets and bring more individually remarkable stays to travelers around the world,” said Brooke Thomas, brand leader for Curio Collection by Hilton. She said the hotels aim to satisfy the curiosity of travelers through locally inspired design and food.

While both brands fall under Hilton’s lifestyle umbrella, they serve different traveler needs. Curio Collection properties are often “remarkable” destinations. These hotels typically have distinct, high-end architectural styles or unique historical settings, such as the cave suites in Turkey. Tapestry Collection properties are more neighborhood-centric. These hotels focus on personality and local integration. Travelers can use the Hilton Honors app to manage their stays at these boutique properties. This is particularly useful in Curio and Tapestry hotels, which may have smaller or more unconventional front desks than a standard Hilton.
The app has a Digital Key feature. This allows guests to bypass the front desk and unlock their rooms with a smartphone. The app also has a room selection tool. This lets travelers choose specific rooms or floors before they arrive. These features provide a level of convenience that is often missing in truly independent boutique hotels.
Maximizing Hilton Honors Points
