New Tapestry Collection Hotel Coming to London Bridge
Hilton is bringing the Tapestry Collection to London with the new London Bridge Hotel. Learn about the £12M renovation and 2028 opening.
Hilton signed the London Bridge Hotel, Tapestry Collection, marking the lifestyle brand’s debut in London. The 153-room hotel will open in early 2028 following a £12 million renovation.
A £12 Million Transformation at London Bridge
The project follows a franchise agreement with Gama Holdings. The hotel will feature garden vault guest rooms and a ground floor redesigned by hospitality partner Individual Restaurants. This redesign will include several premium food and beverage outlets to attract both local residents and travelers.
Christian Charnaux, executive vice president and chief development officer at Hilton, said the signing drives value for owners and strengthens the Hilton network. He explained the partnership allows Hilton to expand its lifestyle portfolio in a major travel destination. This hotel will be Hilton’s ninth brand in London.
Simon Elias, president of Gama Holdings, stated that the partnership combines the heritage of the hotel with the scale of a global hospitality leader. He noted that the company has owned the London Bridge Hotel for more than 30 years.
Proximity to The Shard and London Bridge Station
The hotel is at 8–18 London Bridge Street, right next to London Bridge Station. This location provides immediate access to major transport links. Travelers arriving at London Heathrow (LHR) or London Gatwick (LGW) can easily reach the property via central London rail connections.
You can walk to several major landmarks from the hotel, including The Shard, Borough Market, Tower Bridge, and the South Bank cultural district. Because this area is a mix of corporate offices and tourism, the property will likely compete with the Marriott Autograph Collection and Hyatt Unbound Collection for guests looking for more personality than a standard hotel.
Hilton Honors Value and Loyalty Benefits
Guests can use Hilton Honors to book stays at this new property. Hilton Honors points have a value of approximately 0.5 to 0.6 cents per point. This value is lower than Hyatt points, which can reach 1.7 cents, but Hilton has a much larger global footprint.
If you use American Express Membership Rewards, you can transfer points to Hilton Honors at a 1:2 ratio. This makes it simple to accumulate points for a stay here.
A major advantage of Hilton compared to Marriott involves free night certificates. Hilton Honors members often use uncapped free night certificates earned through cards like the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. Marriott tends to cap certificate values or top-off options, while Hilton’s system offers more flexibility for high-end stays.
Your Options for London Stays
Since the London Bridge Hotel will not open until early 2028, you cannot book it for immediate travel. If you want to stay in the London Bridge area soon, you have several alternatives:
- Lifestyle Brands: Look for existing Tapestry Collection hotels in the UK or Ireland to experience the brand now.
- Competitor Alternatives: Check availability at the Marriott Autograph Collection or Hyatt properties near the South Bank.
- Direct Booking: When this hotel opens, book directly through Hilton to access contactless check-in and room selection via the Hilton Honors app.
The £12 million investment suggests a high-quality property in a well-connected district.
